Gurez Valley is one of the most precious hidden gem’s of Kashmir. It has diverse fauna and wildlife including the Himalayan brown bear and the snow leopard. The Kishanganga river flows through the valley. This valley is known for it’s snow-capped mountains, pristine rivers, sparkling lakes and lies
near the Line of Control, which separates it from the Astore and Neelam districts of Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Gurez is 123 kms from Srinagar and is home to the Dard tribe, the aboriginals of this land.

Early morning departure from Pathankot to Srinagar to beat the traffic. Breakfast and tea stops en-route. Arrive at Srinagar and check-in to your houseboat!

Post breakfast, we depart from Srinagar headed towards Dawar. On the way, we stop by the famous Wular lake – Asia’s largest freshwater lake. Then ride on up to Razdan Pass and visit the shrine of Peer Baba. We then carry on down Razdan pass and finally enter Gurez Valley. Then ride on and check-in to the Dawar accommodation – basic yet comfortable and clean. Unwind at the local cafe and retire for the night.

Post breakfast, we depart Dawar and ride deeper into Gurez Valley. Our first stop is the Habba Khatoon spring and also get a good look of the Habba Khatoon peak. Today we explore the ancient village of Angaikot that will transport you back in time. We also visit the fascinating Chakwali area. We eat a packed lunch en-route whilst exploring some off-road tracks and then head back to Dawar to settle back in for the evening.
Post breakfast, depart Dawar headed towards Kangan which is on the outskirts of Srinagar. Visit the Naranaag temple – an 8th century Shiva temple built by one of the most powerful kings of ancient Kashmir – Lalitaditya Muktapida. Then check-in to the Shepard’s Cottage in Kangan.

Depart early in the morning to beat the traffic from Kangan to Pathankot. Stop for a traditional local breakfast in Srinagar and then carry on towards Pathankot. Lunch en-route.
342 kms / Saddle time – 10 hrs
Depart early in the morning to beat the traffic. Local breakfast en-route and continue on towards Gurgaon with a lunch stop around Chandigarh.
