You may have already experienced the snow capped views of the Himalayan range from the lower reaches of Uttarakhand. It’s now time to get close to the peaks and experience their magnanimity up-close. The Panchachuli Basecamp Expedition gives you the opportunity to go right to the foot of the Panchachuli peaks and camp there for a night. This allows you to fully absorb the serenity of this area and see these peaks like you may never have before. En-route, visit and explore some Uttarakhand’s lesser known and quaint hamlets.
Depart early in the morning with breakfast, lunch and tea stops en-route. Enter Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and arrive at the old British colonial Manor. Unwind by the bonfire and prepare for the next day’s ride.
405 kms – 9 hrs
Early morning optional walk forest bathing walk – refresh and energise yourself. After a leisurely breakfast, we depart from Binsar headed towards Chaukori. Stay overnight at Chaukori.
106 kms / Saddle time – 3 hrs 30 mins
Post breakfast, we depart Dawar and ride deeper into Gurez Valley. Our first stop is the Habba Khatoon spring from where we also get a good look of the Habba Khatoon peak. Today we explore the ancient village of Angaikot that will transport you back in time. We also visit the fascinating Chakwali area. We eat a packed lunch en-route whilst exploring some off-road tracks and then head back to Dawar to settle back in for the evening.
175 kms / Saddle time – 8 hrs
Spend the day exploring the Panchachuli Basecamp.
Post breakfast, we depart from Dugtu headed towards Pittoragarh – the largest district in Kumaon. Overnight at Pittoragarh.
162 kms / Saddle time – 7 hours
Post breakfast, we depart Pittoragarh headed back towards Binsar wildlife Sanctuary. On arrival at the sanctuary head straight up the forest trail followed by a short walk to zero point where a packed lunch awaits us. Hear we understand the history of this special place.
132 kms / Saddle Time – 5 hrs
Post breakfast, it’s time for the final ride headed back towards Gurgaon. Meal stops planned en-route.
